Hiked the Grand Canyon in one day
CrossFit L1
CrossFit changed Tamara's life by building not just her physical strength, but also her mental strength, confidence, and resilience. Through every lift, WOD, and challenge, she learned the power of pushing past limits—and became passionate about bringing that same transformation to others.
For years, I doubted whether I truly belonged in the spaces I worked so hard to enter, constantly questioning if I was "good enough" despite my achievements. Every success felt like a fluke, and every challenge seemed like proof that I would eventually be exposed as an imposter. But through CrossFit, and pushing my physical and mental limits, I learned that confidence isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you build through action. Every rep, every challenge, every moment of discomfort became proof that I was capable, strong, and worthy. Now, I use that same mindset to help others step into their strength, knowing they already belong exactly where they are.
Her mission is to make CrossFit accessible to underserved youth and communities, providing them with the same benefits she's experienced: mental and physical strength, perseverance, joy, and a supportive community that believes in their potential. When she's not coaching and volunteering for FYR (Forging Youth Resilience), she serves as the Chief People Officer of DSST (Denver Schools of Science and Technology) charter schools, hangs out with her two teenage boys, and six dogs.
